As Cosabella launches our Spring 2017 collection, we launch a brand new Artist Spotlight featuring artist: Joanna Baker.

Joanna Baker is an illustrator living in New York City with her husband and their cat, Junebug. After graduating from Washington College with a degree in Studio Art, Joanna moved to New York to attend Parsons and earn a degree in fashion design. While in design school, she realized her truly favorite part of the process was the initial sketch. It was then that she started an illustration blog as an excuse to keep drawing in her spare time.

With the connections she’s made through her blog and Instagram, Joanna has had the opportunity to work with individual clients, bloggers, and businesses to create custom illustrations. She’s worked on a range of requests in the form of illustrated fashion portraits, wedding and shower invites, logos, and brand content.

In January of 2015, Joanna finally decided to make the leap and pursue her freelance work full time. She left her corporate design job and now puts her energy towards freelance illustration and design projects in addition to building her own brand of illustrated paper goods and art prints.
