My style is constantly evolving depending on my mood and surroundings. I’m not one to subscribe to any particular style-type. However, the foundational principle I always apply is comfort. I only follow trends if I have a connection with the style. But I do love playing with the juxtaposition of fashion, like structured pieces paired with dainty feminine accents (think lacy undergarment paired with a structured blazer). I’m also becoming more aware of the importance of ethically-made fashions, so I attempt to support labels that have sustainability and workers protections in mind.
More often than not, I think we subconsciously [& consciously] draw our inspiration from our surroundings. I now intentionally try to incorporate the unique artistry from each place I visit into my everyday style. Raised in Santa Fe, my bohemian aesthetic grew from the idyllic lifestyle of the Southwest. My travels to places like Tulum, Mexico have me incorporating breathable beach-worthy fabrics into my everyday wardrobe, and my latest inspiration, a relaxed seventies vibe hails from none other than Palm Springs itself. It’s impossible not to be inspired by what surrounds you so I think it’s important to travel and experience new cultures to develop an appreciation for alternative ideas about beauty and style.
I’ve been wearing the most comfortable eco bodysuit all summer. It makes getting dressed so simple and it’s ridiculously comfortable.
Who is your style icon?
I pretty much mastered the art of the road trip this summer and as such was saturated with iconic route 66 experiences, sun bled desert views while sipping margaritas by the poolside and images of iconic sixties pop art. I’m pretty sure I’ll be riding that inspirational high all season long.
I’m so excited for western wear, leather pants and dark tones for fall.
I believe healthy skin is the key to beauty with or without makeup so I put more of an emphasis on skincare products than makeup. I spent a good 10 years of my life battling bad acne (and honey, the battle is really never over), so good skincare is no joke to me. My everyday routine includes gently cleansed skin (oil cleanser for removing makeup and pH balanced cleanser for removing dirt), a retinol serum and light moisturizer. I use Josie Maran Argan Tinted Moisturizer to even out my skintone while still looking natural (it’s moisturizing and SPF 50 too!), Dr. Jart BB Cream is amazing for a little extra coverage without being too heavy. For makeup, my normal day is very minimal, where I’ll stick with brows, mascara and a tad of bronzer/blush. I’m honestly not much of a makeup person but it’s fun to try new things every once in awhile.
- Sunscreen: At the moment my favorite is Soleil Toujours. I have really fair skin so have to constantly be applying
- Sunnies: You won’t catch me without sunnies on a typical day no matter what season
- Hat : ‘nough said
- Water : I feel like I’m always dehydrated, so I’m constantly drinking water
- Phone : I mean really, who can live without this?
